Located in Qingdao, China, the Kutao Flower Market is the largest and most popular flower market in the city. As part of the redevelopment of the area, the new Kutao Flower Market is conceived as a gateway to the natural world for its visitors. Surrounded by green-covered mountains, the Kutao Flower Market enjoys unique scenery. In order to minimize its environmental impact, the project aimed to reduce land cutting as much as possible. The resulting design is four organic volumes growing from the hillside like flowers.
