It is evening when Floria Tosca sings the aria Vissi d’arte, an intimate piece, a reflective interlude that appears in the midst of the frenzied events in Puccini’s opera, and it is an evening landscape, illuminated solely by the cold almost moon-like lights of ten videoprojectors that Design|Opera is set, more than an design exhibition, it is an aria, a movement inspired by the changing flow of life. Design|Opera is not intended to celebrate the product in itself, rather it is designed to represent the connection that is created between objects, forms and feelings that interweave, interlink and separate in a state of constant change.
Narrative structure:
ACT 1: the contact with what you do not know
ACT2: the connection between the objects draws seams and synapses
ACT3: a reflection about time
NEO was founded by Fabia Molteni, Cinzia Rizzo, and Franco Rolle. The acronym NEO synthesizes the essence of our research and projects in designing and creating narrative environments.
Our work is particularly focused in the area of multimedia exhibitions and museums, but is open to any context involving the communication of a place.
Designing and constructing narrative environments means creating stories that simultaneously involve a physical space and the present time, the here and now, providing an intrinsic philisofical value to the direct experience.
