Volvo is in the midst of a revitalization, working to deliver its
most modern safety, design, and comfort innovations, and
a new vision of luxury. The 2016 XC90 T8 Twin Engine
epitomizes the brand’s new direction.
The exterior starts with Volvo’s new logo, Thor’s Hammer-
inspired LED headlamps, muscular yet subtle lines, and the
brand’s vertical taillight design.
The doors open to Volvo’s idea of a sanctuary: stadium
leather seating for seven, lush wood trim, diamond-cut
touches, an Orrefors crystal gearshift, and the Sensus
infotainment system, featuring a nine inch touchscreen and
just eight physical controls. Volvo’s Scalable Product
Architecture provides expansive space for comfort as well as
technical advancements under the hood.
The XC90 T8 Twin Engine is the world’s first plug-in hybrid,
seven-seat SUV, uniting power and efficiency without
compromise: 400hp and 59MPGe from the super- and
turbocharged, four cylinder Drive-E engine, and an electric
motor at the rear.
