Air pollution is one of the massive problems in Beijing,
China, but the project of Community Center promises
a pathway to greener and cleaner urban environment.
The design takes inspiration from Chinese traditional
courtyard houses and the Feng-Shui principles in the
approach to the design concept of filtration of body
and mind; filtration of old and new; and filtration of
air, water and light. Therefore, the design reflects
positive engagement with nature based on the main
idea of multiple courtyards and multi peaked roof as
the mean of filtration.
