This hall is in honor of Dr. Hiroo Inokuchi, an eminent proponent of organic semiconductors. We designed the building linear in configuration that evokes the image of a spine passing through the site’s center, preserved its surroundings with the conservation satoyama forest and irrigation reservoir, and created a site-specific landscape architecture integrated with the building by forming a new landscape to be inherited in the future while conserving the rural landscape inherited since 400 years ago where ecosystems are generated, inspired by the landscape Dr. Inokuchi saw in his childhood.
