The museum sits in the valley of Bogd Khan National Park in Mongolia with a beautiful backdrop of mountains. Museum pieces are contained within a glass façade with sufficient amount of natural light and magnificent views to the mountains. The museum consists of a main museum building, a theatre, a planetarium and an additional building to the north. The main museum fits into the existing steel structures whereas the additional building is unrestricted from the existing structural grid and provides a column-free volume for a temporary gallery.
