Entry Description

The project is located in a traditional southern city in China surrounded by rivers. The concept was extracted from typical elements of “small bridges”, deconstructing the massive building volume into smaller pieces various in size that are connected by a series of small bridges to provide users various experiences. We applied the traditional stucco method onto the fairfaced concrete building exterior walls to cast subtle and delicate shadows and to create elegant and decent expression. Eventually the massive structure is dissolved into many welcoming spaces and integrated with the city.
