This eco-lodge is carefully sited along the edge of a steep embankment with magnificent views of the River Nile and Murchison Falls National Park beyond. A series of traditional grass thatched roof structures are nestled amongst tree canopies in wilderness. The building design encourages natural ventilation through the openness of the diagrid gumpole structure; this, along with using photo-voltaic panels for power embraces the favorable equatorial climate. Local and natural materials of timber, grass and stone further contextualize the design and blend the buildings into their environment.
