Entry Description

To bring the beauty of the Finnish countryside to the city, the Guggenheim Museum ebbs and flows like rolling plains and low hills. The design’s pedestrian pathway works as a horizontal and vertical connection between the waterfront and the city grid, penetrating the structure and blurring the boundaries between public and private spaces.

The interior of the main exhibition hall can be viewed from the pathway outside as one circulates around the large architectonic form. The design comes alive and unfurls into natural gathering spaces where visitors can enjoy where the city meets the water.
