Entry Description

The overarching design approach for the extension and refurbishment works was to ‘complete’ the work of the original architect Frank Matcham. This philosophical stance underpinned all the works both external and internal. Matcham is known for the eclecticism of his interiors and the new decorative treatment, whilst celebrating his cheerful disregard for architectural niceties, pulls together a coherent aesthetic for the building.
