Entry Description

Located at the southern edge of campus abutting a historic neighborhood, the Woodlawn Residential and Dining Commons embraces the University of Chicago’s pedagogical House concept, promoting community and intellectual exchange within tightly knit cohorts of undergraduates. Just a short walk from UChicago’s main quadrangle, the balanced design consists of three six-story and one fifteen-story residential wings set on a common single-story amenities level. The building configuration creates an active rooftop courtyard for residents to relax and reconnect with the natural world.
