Siu Kai Fong

North Point residents’ oral histories and beloved furnishings inspired O&O Studio and Rehyphenation’s Siu Kai Fong, showcasing a rich tapestry of the neighbourhood’s past for the present. Through repurposed furnishings donated by North Point households and businesses, Siu Kai Fong is an urban living room installation compiles of upcycled furniture and complemented by painted floor graphics inspired by colourful heritage patterns commonly found in tenement buildings. It made the public realise the closeness of Hong Kong’s communities and the invisible connections that bind everyone together.

O&O Studio is a Hong Kong based design-led studio with a working ethos of “Out and Outer”, fully committed to clients with thoroughgoing attitude. O&O do not provide standardized design formula and believe that each project should be originated from a critical and cohesive process of strategic and visual thinking through to the end users’ evaluation. O&O’s spatial creation performs through its composition, materiality, and spatial layering as importantly as with the context and the end users, particularly for the next generation.
