Shaped as a rhombus to respond to specific contextual conditions of the site, Ridge House is a minimalist single family residence located in Portland. Despite its small stature, the house is a modern counterpoint to the surrounding and more traditional urban fabric. The design emphasizes simplicity, with a minimalist sensibility that is conscious of the modest size, it employs a restrained material palette – the concrete, drywall, and white oak interior is accented with blackened steel detail elements. The exterior is clad in dark-stained cedar with black accents, perched at atop a plinth.
