Sitting on top of a riverside cliff, Jiangshan Yun Chu – Legend Gallery is a response to localised architecture. In exploring the relationship between nature and urban space, the architecture is subtly filled with images of cliffs, riverbends, mountains and sunsets, interpreted as simple curves cutting across the sky. The glazed elevation allows sunlight to penetrate and fall onto the city behind, completely immersing the building in nature. The second floor is rotated to add an artistic twist to the cliff, with an 18-metre-long overhanging observation deck commanding views of the city.
