Chinese Garden Journey

I documented a trip to the garden in the form of a garment. I used persimmon plant dyes to give the fabrics their distinctive natural colours and applied colours to the cotton and linen fabrics to give them scenery and texture. Instead of cutting the fabric, I explore the relationship between the garment and the body, thus saving excess fabric. Using natural fabrics and handmade methods, I incorporate the concept of sustainability into my garments and blend Eastern philosophy with modern fashion to create a unique Chinese aesthetic. Clothing is not just a product, but emotions and memories.

Zhuen Cai is a designer who is good at showing art through clothing. He used to work at SHEIN Co-branding Creative Centre as the head of design, and was responsible for co-branding and collaborative designs with Frida and Harry Potter, showing more possibilities of clothing through creativity. In his personal life, he uses clothing as a carrier of interest in life, integrating clothing, art and life into one, making clothing a carrier that carries the memories and emotions of ethnic groups.
