The concept behind my invitation was inspired by Guo Pei's iconic dress that is meant to emulate Chinese pottery. I hand dip-dyed the invitations in indigo to give the hand painted effect that Chinese pottery has. I used Bodoni for the main headings because of it's association with couture. The main invitation fans out the same way the dress does. The invitation is meant to be a taste of what the actual event will be like, while creating it's own experience.
