Villa Marbella is located on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with a view spanning from Europe to Africa.
The building is a sequence of interlinked pavilions adjusting to steep terrain and oriented toward natural focal points – the tip of Africa; the Rock of Gibraltar; La Concha peak; Puerto Banus Harbour. Gardens in-between pavilions form outdoor rooms so that landscape, building and climate continuously interface and merge.
The building encapsulates a feeling of Mountain-becoming-Sea, and transitions from an earthy, mountain cabin to cascading oceanic vessel.
