A/W 2018-19 - Bionic Birds at The National Trust

After a visit to Fenton House (a 17th-century merchant's house) we became obsessed by the oddly kitsch porcelain bird candle holders on display. We started drawing them with elements of bionic birds and flowers (from our continuing love of sci-fi films).Free hand embroidering these odd looking creatures in vibrant colours, creating our own unique lace.
Sheer layering is a signature feature of our collections. We employ it throughout, building up depths of texture and colour over a mix of fabrics and bias binding emphasising the graphic lines of the pattern cutting.

LONGSHAW WARD is a Womenswear and Accessories label, designed by husband and wife team Kirsty Ward and David Longshaw, in our London studio.
Having studied at St Martins and the Royal College of Art, we met in the design studio of Alberta Ferretti, in Italy.
Covetable contemporary pieces with a strong aesthetic are the main principles of the brand’s DNA. The collections concentrate on beautiful, detailed craftsmanship, for modern, intelligent women.
Longshaw Ward has been worn by the likes of Gigi Hadid, Jorja Smith,Poppy Delevingne, Mabel and featured in L’Officiel, VOGUE, NYLON, ELLE.
