The Jinyu Xingfa Science Park, formerly a cement factory, covers an area of over 60 hectares includes 54 preserved buildings. The historical traces of industrial culture are preserved and a new, lively campus for scientific and technological research is created. A landscape-historical north-south axis connects five functional clusters: Institutes of Applied Mathematics and Advanced Study, management services, apartments and offices. By adopting passive technology and application of renewable energy, the renovation reduces energy consumption to achieve the goal of zero-carbon architecture.
