Accessible by boat only, this contemporary post and beam cottage is set on an island amongst the water and boreal forest of the Canadian shield. The timber structure is Douglas fir from western Canada and the finishes are locally sourced spruce, birch, maple, pine, and walnut. The main congregation space cantilevers over Burritt’s inlet, providing infinity views to the east in the morning, the west in the evening, and the south throughout the day, animating the atmosphere for all. A massive granite fireplace anchors this area, with sleeping and bathing facilities nestled in the forest beyond.
