Entry Description

Rigger’s Loft is a 26,670 s.q.ft one story winery. It locates in the previous Kaiser Steel Shipyard during World War II for building military cargo ships- Victory and Liberty. This location inspired me to develop my concept- Transformation from wartime to wine time. This concept referred to production story of a cargo ship and wine production of today. Because of location history, this project mainly selected wood, and metal to bring in the 1940s factory atmosphere to reinforce the idea of production place.
