Entry Description

Some look frightening, others amusing: masks still exert a special magic on people. The masked museum is designed to emphasize the masks' magical and mystical nature. The museum focuses on face masks and maskers in full costume. It addresses this mythical appeal and allure of transformation. Carnival, ritual, death, shaming and protest masks as well as theatre and movie masks accompany the visitor on a journey through a magical world.
