Sustainable Singapore Gallery @ Marina Barrage

The Sustainable Singapore Gallery at Marina Barrage is an interactive educational experience for students and the public that highlights present and future climatic threats to the low-lying island city-state of Singapore. The main gallery is segmented into 6 zones, each examining a specific theme. Text, multimedia, graphics and everyday objects illustrate the 'blue and green' concept of sustainability and efforts in a tangible and engaging way. An organic 'ribbon' element weaves the zones together, inviting visitors to explore, learn and take active steps towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

Established in 1999, Zarch Collaboratives cultivates a bold and rigorous approach to design, drawing inspiration from across multiple fields while remaining rooted in strong architectural fundamentals, sustainability and community. Zarch’s portfolio spans works in architecture, conservation, curation, landscape urbanism and placemaking that engage with the dynamic urban and climatic context of Singapore. With an adjoining gallery space in its office, Zarch has organised dialogs amongst industry professionals and notable figures and in efforts to promote Singaporean arts locally and abroad.
