Entry Description

Inspired by the Art Brut and Art Povre movements, Pod2: Explore/Gain is rooted in the brand’s core values: celebrating the other, sustainability and craft.
Pod2 is a collection that crosses gender boundaries - inspired by the work of April Dawn Alison, the once secret female identity of Oakland-based photographer Alan Shaefer.
Pod2 is a platform for those unafraid to be their true self.
Repurposed fabrics throughout; ice-dye & applique techniques; Oakland made.
**Pod2 has also given birth to a line of ethical tees, with part of the proceeds going to the NBJC.org in support of Black LGBTQ+!

Bio

Alien.Eleven is an ethical fashion brand out of Fruitvale, Oakland, CA. We started less than a year ago and have already had our sustainably-directed collections featured in magazines out of London and throughout the US.
We work in conjunction with a Bay Area non-profit; we are the first fiscally-sponsored fashion label. This allows us to operate with ‘non profit DNA’ and accept tax-deductible donations that go towards fair wages and creative, eco-friendly practices for non-binary fashion and street wear.
