Entry Description

Baiyangdian Waterfront Park seeks to recover the original landscape pattern of ‘Lotus Pond-Reed Sea’ - but interpreted to solve modern flooding and water quality problems with a varied network of eco-levees and a general cleanup of the regional watershed . A new marina brings the Xiong-an community to the lake and it’s many reed channels and aquatic lotus spaces. The new stability of the water helps to renew its importance as a major stop on the Asian Flyway and lake and surrounding forests are home to tremendous and highly diverse species of birds as well as aquatic mammals and fish.
