Entry Description

100 million people worldwide need a prosthetic limb, but most can't access or afford them. As designers, we should not accept this. Generative design can optimize prosthetics and lower material costs. We can improve logistics and produce minimal ideal forms by leveraging additive manufacturing. The Affordable, Bionic Arm project is a proof of concept. It shows that we as designers can help millions of people that are suffering with a few tools that are available to us. No one should have to suffer limb loss when we have the capabilities to create change. Let us make that change.
