Entry Description

The poster has been designed by using common theoretical base of architecture and typography in order to celebrate the multicultural heritage of İstanbul and architectural diversity of its' history

İstanbul Deko is an original typeface and specially designed for the poster it is inspired by the multicultural heritage of İstanbul and designed with decorative details of the city’s historical structures.


He has finished his undergraduate studies in 2003 at Bilkent University Business Information Management department. Following his personal interest in visual arts, he has attended the Graphic Design programs at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. After returning to Turkey, he has worked at McCann Erickson and BBDO advertising agencies as an art director. He has been working at Dogan Egmont Publishing Inc. as visual director for the last three years. His primary area of interest is independent
typography projects feeding on the mutual area of design and art, focusing on cultural and social issues.
His projects have been exhibited in several organizations and biennials that are organized by well-established and esteemed international institutions such as ICOGRADA. Recently he has attended 23rd Warsaw Poster Biennial and during the same period his works have been accepted to Wilanów Poster Museum Collection and 33th NY Type Directors Club annual.
