Sweet Reflections is an upcoming pocket park under the iconic mural of the legendary John Lewis at Auburn Ave, Atlanta.
Collaborating with Butler Street CDC, our aim was to bring a sense of community back to Auburn Ave by transforming the parking lot in front of the mural into an inviting pocket park. Over a 10-week journey, our team used frameworks and theories of design thinking, strategy, placemaking, biophilia, architecture and community engagement to propose a space design that honors the African American community who we actively engaged with through the process of designing the park.
