Written by Albert Cheng-Syun Tang, Extraordinary in
Ordinary is a MA thesis finished in Kunst- og
designhøgskolen i Bergen (Bergen Academy of Art and
Design, a.k.a KHiB) which analyzes and explores how design
can guide people to find the concealed value in their
relationships with objects in everyday life. The book consists
of a philosophical research about discovering the unnoticed
moments in daily lives as well as a documentation of the
proposed design outcome, the Daily You diary mirror. The
concept of book design was to symbolize the imaginative
space between ordinary and extraordinary discussed in the
research by manipulating a minimalistic and quiet visual
language.
