Entry Description

The Apartment is located in Dubai Marina – a busy part of Dubai facing the ocean. The apartment is around 400m2 and the budget was set at $ 120’000. The design was not to be intrusive in any way keeping the focus not on the interior, but the exterior, using a neutral mix of light colours and natural textures with feminine touches.

The Living & Dining area is following a neutral palette with the slate wall cladding as the only element with a slightly sharper visual impact yet instantly balanced by more delicate finishes. White sheers embracing the space adds softness and transparency. Other textures such as velvets, cotton, linens, silks and textured wallpapers, some all-white-on white’, as well as plush rugs present exciting dimensions without being intrusive. The furniture is all hand-picked from higher end ranges and the lighting in this area gives out a natural warm light reflecting Mother of Pearl.

The above described scheme runs throughout the other spaces such as the Master Bedroom yet here the tones of the textures and colours are slightly deeper in order to create a warm and cosy atmosphere.

The Music Room, a special request by the Client, displays a colour scheme all black-on-black in order to create a ‘dark’ and intimate atmosphere. The masculine display wall is covered with famous guitars and song lyrics presenting a strong visual impact as does the huge bookshelf. The sheers used are detailed with circles within circles all to resemble and reiterated the nostalgia over classic LP’s.
