Entry Description

There is a spiral slope. Turn and go up, and go through a wall, Turn up next space, Continue to turn, turn, turn, and turn. At last, reach the sky.
Life span of RC structure has been over 60 years. However, unfortunately most Japanese houses have clashed for 30 years. In this situation Japanese architects has been required a house which has high sustainability performance by our client and our society.
First of all, inhabitants are possible to walk on a gentle, 1/10 slope almost like a flat house in spite of three-storied. This is an epoch of the house. The slope makes inhabitants having interrelations easily between upper and down floor.
Second, dividing system of structure makes various performance. An external wall and a slope were made of reinforced concrete. And the inside was wooden structure. Durability of the RC structure which withstands horizontal force of earthquake allows flexibility of the wooden structure. Moreover, the slope allows vertical modification of the floor because the spiral slope is possible to contact to every height. The wooden structure follows various changes, family structure, life style, and so on by capable of flexibility. Accordingly, the slope is simple and minimum structure and makes maximum flexibility.
Third, the system makes environmental improvements. Every room and the slope are partitioned by light weight walls that are made of paper and wood. Closing these walls, the house has double skins and an air layer. In this situation, inner wooden space keeps comfortable temperature. In addition, opening a top-level window of the air space, the building is due to generate buoyancy-driven ventilation like a tornado.
By these all achievements, it is consequently assumed that inhabitants of the house get sustainable life.
