Entry Description

In planning for a new home for the clients, they wanted a livable but comfortable home for a family of five. The English Country Architecture of the home led us to do a mixture of various styles of furniture in a traditional manner with emphasis on English with Chinese accents. The overall feel has a collected look that has been assembled over a period of time. The home needed to be elegant but functional for daily living and entertaining from children’s pool parties to seated dinners. Choices of muted green with accents of terracotta and blue give the home a warm cozy feel. Antique oriental rugs tie the spaces together. Custom draperies that let in filtered light but still give a view of the pool and the lake beyond bring the outside into the home. Scraped and stained hardwood floors create a casual but refined look. Detailed chestnut paneling and fireplaces add focal points and interest to the interiors. A variety of paintings throughout the home combine antique pieces with some new art. Lighting was designed to highlight these pieces along with unique antique lanterns and chandeliers. From the time you enter the home you have a warm welcoming feeling in spite of the size of the home.
