Entry Description

The Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (J.C.DISI) was founded in 2012, as initiated by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. As the first design institute dedicated to social innovation in Asia, its capacity to imagine, inspire, ignite and implement creative solutions for our community. Their vision is to build a vibrant, knowledgeable and resilient community capable in tackling complex challenges through a creative approach and humanistic design.

In 2013-2014, J.C.DISI endeavoured to achieve the above vision in three unique but inter-related approaches; to initiated a number of design projects with partners in public, social and private sectors that propel substantial social changes in Hong Kong; to organise a number of programmes dedicated to capacity building of future social innovators in Asia; and to launch platforms of various forms forms and medium to catalyse knowledge exchange on a global Scale.
