Entry Description

Volvo’s human-centric approach and Scandinavian design
are combined seamlessly in the Sensus control and
entertainment system of the all-new 2016 XC90.

Sensus’ nine inch, vertical touchscreen breaks into four
primary tiles, all underscored by just eight physical controls
(down from 30-plus in the average vehicle). A touch or
natural voice command maximizes the selection and
collapses – not hides – the other tiles, avoiding exit buttons
and loading that can cause frustration, confusion, and
potentially unsafe experiences.

Swiping left or right reveals additional features, from safety
systems to optimizing the sound system. Navigation mode
includes pinch-to-zoom, while key details can be routed
through the gauge cluster, the optional heads-up display,
and the speakers.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and cloud-based apps,
including the world’s first integrated Park and Pay setup,
uphold forward-looking connectivity.

With Sensus, Volvo aims to bridge gaps between modern
vehicles and the people that drive, connect, and live with
them.
