Entry Description

The new Owners of this property were looking to create a unique family weekend and Summer retreat on the Hill Country Lake located just East of San Antonio. Although a constant level lake, seasonal upriver flood events would dramatically affect the area and new homes were required to be raised 11’ above the shore line for habitable spaces-creating a new architecture for the area.

The Owners came with a keen sense of what they wanted to achieve on the site- a "glass lantern" to fully embrace the outdoors. “Bedrooms are secondary, we want the experience of living outdoors to be the main focus of this home”. To keep the footprint compact, a two story living portion- with first floor being focused on the Living Spaces, Master/Guest bedrooms included a Second floor with two additional Bedrooms/baths complete with a loft/bridge for children to engage on their own.
