In celebrating Chinese New Year, wishes of luck are greeted. Red packet is an essential part of this tradition, within which tokens of cares are shared. The box opens from left to right, a format borrowed from historic Chinese books orientation. The design stems from the traditional belief that “Great things come in pairs” (好事成雙). In the gift box are 2 stacks of red packets, representing the duality of Couplets (春聯). In each stack are 5 greetings, illustrating clever puns in modern ways, with the words surrounded by a border and arranged as one would find in traditional Chinese stamps.
