Entry Description

I-Beam Design was given the challenge to develop a language that would unify the disparate parts of a 4000 sf summer house built in various styles with years of incongruous additions and renovations. While maintaining it's late modernist integrity and cache we incorporated a cohesive vision with the use of contemporary materials and technologies.
The Ipe and Mahogany decking and stained cedar trellis work juxtaposed against the angled white walls interconnected all sides of the building, while aluminum panels and cantilevering canopies provide shade and a more dynamic look to the composition.
