The intent of this creation was to approach the idea of a Mixed-Use building, in the Hayes Valley district of San Francisco, CA, as a way to get back to the celebration of the materials we rely upon day to day. [ Ornament and crime. ] Our approach was one that tried to inspire both an appreciation for what was steel, concrete, wood, etc.. and celebrate their rawness and place on display the functions each performed. All while trying to encourage neighbor interaction and pursing a means to creating eco-friendly dwellings and retail spaces.
My parnter and I are fourth year architecture students attending Kansas State. We are each pursuing our Masters of Architecture degree.
